The new doctor I had today was so wonderful! She did tell me to breathe deeply throughout the whole process, she was fast and efficient and made me feel so at ease. In fact, I fought my doctor in the US when he insisted I get another one a month later (I lost). But the good thing: it's so fast in the big scheme of things. So many crazy things happen to our cervices throughout womanhood, and yet, as with childbirth, God made our bodies able to withstand a lot more than we think we can. I think breathing out as any instruments are inserted really helps. After enduring your pap smear, you'll feel that much more empowered! Good luck!
